Togo will be reviewed for the second time during the 26th session of the second cycle of the Universal Periodic Review.

This joint alternative report (only in French) by FIACAT and ACAT Togo aims at assessing the implementation of recommendations accepted by Togo during its previous review and the evolution of the situation of human rights in the country.

FIACAT and ACAT Togo wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the insufficient incrimination of torture in the Togolese Criminal Code, detention conditions, in particular prison overcrowding and the lack of access to healthcare and food, and on the extent of the phenomenon of popular vindictiveness.
