Graduate of University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne in International administration and in English Law and French Law from University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and King’s College London, Marie Salphati has worked in the Human Rights field and more precisely in the fight against torture since 2014. Marie started with an internship at the Committee against Torture of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. She was involved in the periodic review by the Committee of several states from Africa and Europe and in the preparation of events organized by the Committee.

Marie then joined FIACAT in January 2015. After passing her admission exam to the regional training centre to the Bar, Marie took the position of FIACAT’s Representative to the United Nations and the Council of Europe. In this context, Marie assists the ACATs in the submission of alternative reports for reviews by treaty bodies and for the Universal Periodic Review and for national and international advocacy missions. She also accompanies ACAT Madagascar in the implementation of the project to combat abusive pre-trial detention as international coordinator of the project.
