Member of ACAT-France for over 20 years, Thomas Petitguyot has been actively involved in leading several local groups in the Paris region, Bourges, and Dijon, organizing ecumenical events, and fostering relationships with other human rights organizations. He also served as a board member of ACAT-Belgium, where he notably coordinated the association’s contribution to the Universal Periodic Review in 2016.

Thomas’s commitment has always been rooted both in his indignation at human rights violations and the scandal of torture, and in his satisfaction at contributing to a concrete and visible expression of Christian unity.

An environmental engineer by training, Thomas Petitguyot is an official at the French Ministry of Ecology. He is married to Émilie, who served as a board member of FIACAT from 2015 to 2017, and they have three children together.

In June 2024, Thomas Petitguyot was elected as a member of FIACAT’s International Bureau and Treasurer for a four-year term.
