Wenceslas Assohou has been a member of ACAT Côte d'Ivoire for about fifteen years, during which he served as president for two terms, from 2018 to 2020 and from 2020 to 2022. Under his leadership, the organization established several new partnerships, notably with the German Embassy and the Dullah Omar Foundation in South Africa, while strengthening its ties with the European Union and the OSF Foundation.

He initiated the project to equip all Ivorian prisons with libraries and launched the construction of ACAT Côte d'Ivoire's headquarters. He has also participated in several sessions of the ACHPR and in Côte d'Ivoire’s recent review before the CAT.

As a member of the International Bureau of FIACAT, his commitment is to maintain and expand the network, promote more effective communication, and support the recruitment of new members dedicated to the cause of human rights.

Wenceslas Assohou is a lecturer in law, human rights, and journalism. He is also a lawyer, journalist, and human rights specialist, with a particular focus on international law related to detention.
