The Human Rights Committee holds its 114th session in Geneva from 29th of June until the 24th of July.
On the occasion of the consideration of France by the Committee, FIACAT and ACAT France have submitted an alternative joint report (only in french) stating violations of the provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. FIACAT and ACAT France wish to draw the experts of the Committee’s attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the treatment of foreigners, asylum seekers and refugees and to allegations of ill treatment by police forces.
The report also denounces ill treatments in prisons and prison overcrowding in France.
Lastly, FIACAT and ACAT France wish to underline the issues related to the Additional Protocol to the Franco -Moroccan Convention on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters signed in February 2015.
