FIACAT and ACAT Togo wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the insufficient incrimination of torture in the Togolese Criminal Code, detention conditions, in particular prison overcrowding and the lack of access to healthcare and food, and on the extent of the phenomenon of popular vindictiveness.
