Contribution of FIACAT and ACAT Benin to the Third Universal Periodic Review of Benin
The aim of the alternative report drafted by FIACAT and ACAT Benin is to evaluate the implementation of the recommendations and commitments made by Benin concerning the improvement of the human rights situation since the country's second Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
FIACAT and ACAT Benin wish to draw attention to a certain number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the abolition of the death penalty, extra-judiciary executions, mob justice, infanticide, the criminalisation of torture, judicial safeguards, pre-trial detention, conditions of detention, monitoring of detention, enforced disappearances and the administration of justice.
