Contribution of FIACAT and ACAT Congo to the Third Universal Periodic Review of the Congo
The aim of the alternative report drafted by FIACAT and ACAT Congo is to evaluate the implementation of the recommendations and commitments made by Congo concerning the improvement of the human rights situation since the second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of that country.
FIACAT and ACAT Congo wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the abolition of the death penalty, extra-judicial executions, enforced disappearances, police custody, pre-trial detention, conditions of detention, the administration of justice and the national human rights institution.
