Contribution of FIACAT and ACAT RCA to the third Universal Periodic Review of the CAR
The aim of the alternative report drafted by FIACAT and ACAT CAR is to assess the implementation of the recommendations and commitments made by CAR concerning the improvement of the human rights situation since the second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of that country.
FIACAT and ACAT-CAR wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the abolition of the death penalty, extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, the fight against torture and impunity, the training of law enforcement officers, the situation in places of detention, the administration of justice, the situation of human rights defenders and the national human rights institution.
