The Committee against Torture held its 62nd session in November 2017
On the occasion of Italy's review at this session, FIACAT and ACAT Italy submitted a joint alternative report on the implementation of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment in Italy.
FIACAT and ACAT Italy thus wished to draw the attention of the experts of the Committee against Torture to several issues : the criminalisation of torture, the fundamental legal safeguards, the principle of non-refoulement, detention conditions, investigations on allegations of torture and ill-reatments, the reception conditions for migrants and violence against women.
