The Human Rights Committee held its 119th session in March 2017
On the occasion of Italy's review at this session, FIACAT and ACAT Italy submitted a joint alternative report on the implementation of the International covenant on civil and political rights in Italy
FIACAT and ACAT Italy thus wished to draw the attention of the experts of the Committee against Torture to several issues : the criminalisation of torture, the excessive use of force by police officers, domestic violence, detention conditions, psychiatric hospitals, reception centres, the principle of non-refoulement and the rights to a fair trial.
